SEABISCUIT  ~ THE GREAT MATCH RACE

Each print has a caption in the margin which reads, as follows:

~  November 1, 1938.  Seabsicuit and War Admiral thunder past the stately Member's Clubhouse at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.  Replacement jockey George Woolfe has tapped the insight of regular jockey Red Pollard;  "Gun him from the start and let War Admiral catch up," advised the injured Pollard. "When another horse looks Seabiscuit in the eye, he begins to run to parts unknown."  Seabiscuit went on to defeat the 1937 Triple Crown winner by four lengths in a race that many turf historians consider the greatest ever.
