Jockey John Velazquez - Trainer Bob Baffert

Beneath the famed Twin Spires of Churchill Downs, Authentic stops the timer in 2:00.61 for the seventh fastest Kentucky Derby ever.  Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez – sporting a mask and the silks of the MyRaceHorse Stable – orchestrates a front-running masterpiece, defeating 14 challengers.

Due to a global COVID-19 pandemic, the 146th rendition of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sport” was moved from the first Saturday in May for the first time since 1945 and World War II. The Derby was made the second jewel of the Triple Crown with the Belmont Stakes racing first in New York on June 20 and the Preakness Stakes completing the series in Maryland on Oct. 3.

Churchill Downs was devoid of its traditional 150,000 Derby fans, but nearly 10 million Americans watched from home. Tiz the Law - the shortest priced Derby favorite in 41 years - finished second, beaten a length-a-quarter.
